How Palworld Breeding Works

Palworld breeding uses a deterministic mathematical system based on datamined Breeding Power values. Learn the formula, requirements, and steps to build an optimal breeding base.

1. The Breeding Power Formula

Every Pal species in the game has a hidden integer called Breeding Power ranging from 10 (the strongest Legendaries like Jetragon) to 1470 (Chikipi).

Child Power = Floor( (Parent 1 Power + Parent 2 Power + 1) / 2 )

Once the average power is calculated, the game selects the Pal species whose base power is closest to that number. Ties are resolved in favor of the Pal with the lowest Paldeck ID number.

2. Breeding Farm & Cake Ingredients

To begin breeding, unlock the Breeding Farm at Technology Level 19. It requires:

100 Wood
20 Stone
50 Fiber

Every egg produced consumes 1 Cake placed inside the Breeding Farm box. Cake never spoils while inside the breeding chest!

Wheat Mill

8 Red Berries

Berry Plantation

7 Milk

Mozzarina Ranch

8 Eggs

Chikipi Ranch

2 Honey

Beegarde Ranch

3. Special Combinations (Fixed Overrides)

Over 100 specific combinations bypass the average power formula entirely. These are fixed outcomes coded directly into the game files:

Anubis: Penking + Bushi

Faleris: Anubis + Vanwyrm

Shadowbeak: Kitsun + Astegon

Frostallion Noct: Frostallion + Helzephyr
